Therapeutic Child Treatment

Children who live in substance abusing families or families with other serious problems often develop ways to cope that inhibit healthy development. In order to address the problems of these children, Therapeutic Child Treatment Services are offered on-site at Serenity Place, through the Phoenix Center's licensed day care center, Circle of Friends.

Children from 6 weeks of age up to preschool may be assessed for this service. Those living in residential treatment with their mothers at our women's residential facility, Serenity Place, receive priority placement if deemed appropriate. Limited space and transportation are available for children living in the community of Greenville County.

Treatment provided for the children is focused on reducing developmental delays and other high-risk factors. Mothers are an integral part of this therapy.
