Family Services
At the Phoenix Center we recognize that everyone in a family is affected by one family member's illness, and that this is true of substance abuse and addiction. It's not just a problem for the person who is using but also for all who care about him or her.
Just as we want the substance user to become healthier and better able to face problems, the family needs to grow healthier as well. This is why we offer services to involve family members in the treatment services that their loved one is receiving.
We also offer services for the family members, including the children, and when appropriate, services for the family as a whole. By working together in treatment, families can positively change their lives.
You can now....LEARN ABOUT ADDICTION....
through an educational and supportive group designed to HELP family members and loved ones understand addiction and the recovery process.
This is NOT family counseling, but is a good start in helping an individual decide if individuals would like to seek out family counseling.
These classes are NOT for the person using alcohol and/or other drugs. As the need has arisen in the community, The Phoenix Center began this Support Group exclusively for family members and loved ones concerned with questions like:
- When does abuse become addiction?
- How does someone else's use affect me?
- What can I do about it?
- What does recovery mean?
These classes are FREE of charge and are held on Monday evenings starting at 6pm in Room 110 (lower level). The Phoenix Center is located at 1400 Cleveland Street, Greenville, SC.
Please park and enter at the back of the building.
