Youth Board

If you would like more information, contact Brandi Simmons at bsimmons@phoenixcenter.org or (864) 467-3927.

The Greenville County Youth Board is made up of youth from area high schools that have displayed outstanding leadership in prevention efforts. They work to enhance their school's prevention programs as well as provide a youth voice to community awareness.

In recent years, The Phoenix Center has worked together with the School District of Greenville County to provide drug and alcohol prevention programming to Greenville County High Schools. This initiative has created a sense of awareness of ATOD issues throughout the district and allowed students to become leaders in reducing youth alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.

The youth board meets on a regular basis to work on group initiatives, leadership skills, alcohol and other drug awareness, and to plan school and community events.

For the 2012-2013 school year, the YB has decided to meet the second Wednesday of every month from 4:30pm-6:00pm at The Phoenix Center.
